Madam, - I hate roundabouts. I find them cumbersome, misleadingly signed and dangerous. If you want to go south at Newland's Cross, you'd better take the road clearly marked "Northbound". Going the other direction you come on the ultimate admission of design failure - a roundabout with traffic lights!
The smaller ones - which are everywhere - are accidents waiting to happen, because two drivers approaching at 90 degrees cannot tell who's on and who's not. The medium-sized ones, e.g. at Loughlinstown, are the cause of regular pile-ups; in this case fortunately there's a hospital on site. Can we find out the people responsible for this madness masquerading as road design and put them in straitjackets? - Yours, etc.,
