Madam, - If the GAA decides to abandon the wild colonial boys, perhaps it should improve Gaelic football and then raise its ambitions by promoting the game worldwide. Gaelic could take the tackle from International Rules (but not as executed on Graham Geraghty).
At present it is very difficult to dispossess or stop a Gaelic player without fouling, which frequently provokes retaliation.
The game lacks an effective lawful method of tackling an opponent. This is a major defect which has been obvious for years.
Gaelic is potentially a superb form of football, which could become a world sport to rival soccer, a tedious and over-hyped game. - Yours, etc,
