Sir, – The only conclusion that I can come to after reading and re-reading Sean Haughey's letter (Letters, September 1st), is that Haughey senior's mischievous smile was a wind up of his interviewer.
Why not admit that the substance of the comment [that Charles Haughey had referred to his father as a supporter of Cumann na nGaedheal] was essentially true? – Yours, etc,
