E-scooters and bus lanes

Sir, – A recent news item on legislation for e-scooters referenced that they would not be allowed to use bus lanes.

While not a fan of e-scooters, it seems a missed opportunity to not allow them use bus lanes. They are faster than bicycles and likely safer than having them mix with regular traffic.

While at it, there should be an update to allow motorcycles also use bus lanes.
