DUBLIN'S FIRES

STEPHEN DALY,

STEPHEN DALY,

Madam, - Would somebody please explain to me why the good men and women at the newly-dubbed Dublin City Council saw fit to remove the fire from the three castles on our city's coat of arms in their new logo? If anything, it distinguishes the Dublin City coat from the Munster coat.

The fire, by the way, represents he zeal of Dubliners in defending their beloved city. Perhaps the councillors believe that after years of brown-envelope politics with nods and winks, the aforementioned fires are extinguished. - Yours, etc.

STEPHEN DALY, Harold's Cross, Dublin 6w.
