CSO discrepancies

Sir, – Now we know 64 people occupied one premises in Dublin (“Ireland’s slum-like private rental sector exposed in undercover investigation”, November 3rd) do we really need to believe they filled in the last census form? Does the Central Statistics Office really believe less than five million souls occupy this country when hospitals and schools are bursting for space? – Yours, etc,

RONAN O’DOWD,

Blackrock, Co Dublin.
