Sir, - In these times, with the Irish national airline seemingly about to go out of business, I was amazed to note on a recent flight to Boston that it filled up the empty seats in business class with cabin crew (obviously travelling to the US to crew the return flight).

Hasn't a member of the Aer Lingus management team even considered the notion that a complimentary upgrade for passengers in economy class might create a little goodwill toward the ailing airline? At the end of the day, it's the little things that count in customer service and keep travellers coming back. - Yours, etc.,
