Sir, - Regarding Padraig Yeates's coverage (May 27th) of the CPSU Annual Delegate Conference, it would appear that gone" are the days of merely reporting what happened in favour of a clearly biased view of what Mr Yeates believes should have come to pass.
Certainly the general secretary had been listening to "almost constant criticism", but this camel from the well informed delegates who were there to represent the sentiments of their members. Mr Yeates's implication that this criticism was unjustified is neither proper to his role as reporter nor indeed credible, since he is hardly privy to the grassroots mood that those delegates are kept informed of on a daily basis.
