Sir, – Frank McNally (An Irishman's Diary, April 16th) focuses on the book-shelved backgrounds of media video calls. For the first time in over 50 years, my family was not able to visit Donegal at Easter. In Zoom-calling our son in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, it was heartening to see him greet us with a splendid background of the Harbour Bar in the Downings. If only the miracle of technology extended to pouring pints? – Yours, etc,
