Madam, - I refer to the report "New restrictions planned on alcohol advertising for young," (The Irish Times, January 23rd).

If alcohol advertising works, it shouldn't be allowed. If it doesn't, there's no point to it.

People are perfectly capable of making up their minds as to which brand of this recreational drug they prefer. If individual companies want to increase market share, an excellent way is to increase the quality of their product. Word will soon get around.
