Sir, – The Irish Times political and business sections dominated by Budget 2027 coverage in mid-July, is this a record?

It feels as though budget-related stories, like the cuckoo, arrive earlier each year – could it be a previously unidentified consequence of climate change? Or is it a reflection of the trend for lazy budget kite-flying among the political classes? – Yours,
