Sir – Your correspondent (Letters, June 23rd) draws a superficially plausible but fundamentally flawed comparison between the Government’s encouragement of walking and cycling and the flight cap at Dublin Airport.

Walking and cycling are not realistic options for those needing to travel across the Irish Sea or Atlantic Ocean.
