Sir, – I would like to highlight the increasing misuse of cycle lanes in Dublin and I suspect, elsewhere. City and county councils have shown a lack of foresight in failing to provide clear directional arrows painted on the lanes. This has led to many cyclists (and, indeed, e-scooter users) travelling at speed on e-bikes without due care and in the wrong direction. Food couriers appear to be the prime culprits.
In these circumstances, collisions are inevitable. Perhaps this could be addressed promptly without the delay of yet another round of committee meetings? – Yours, etc,
