Sir, – How interesting it was to see the Irish public award 10 points to Israel at the Eurovision on Saturday.

Similar to the referendums in March, it’s almost as if the loudest voices don’t represent the silent majority. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I struggle with your claim that 160 million people from around the world watched the risible Eurovision (News, May 12th). And if this were true, I’d wager that 159 million of them just switched over in time for the penalty shoot-out – also known as the voting. – Yours, etc,
