Sir, – In response to Debbie Byrne of An Post (Letters, April 24th), I have tried on a couple of occasions to lodge a sterling cheque in the post office to my AIB account, only to be told that they don’t accept sterling cheques. This entails a 45km round-trip to my nearest branch.
On the other hand, they will happily sell me sterling on a plastic card.
