Two woman who were found dead in their home at Kirwin Cottages in Stoneybatter in Dublin today have been named.

Two woman who were found dead in their home at Kirwin Cottages in Stoneybatter in Dublin today have been named.

They were Bridget Heffernan who was in her seventies and her 39-year-old daughter Margaret.

Bord Gais has said that a preliminary examination of the scene of the deaths of a mother and daughter in Dublin's North inner city today has shown that there was no evidence of a gas leak.

The two woman were found dead by a relative at 10.30 a.m. today.

A Garda spokeswoman said the deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

Bord Gais are assisting gardai in their investigations and it is now thought that a faulty heating system may have caused a build up of carbon monoxide which led to the women's deaths.
