Woman killed in Co Laois road traffic incident

A woman has been died following a two car collision in Co Laois overnight.

The incident happened in Clonadoran on the road between Portlaoise and Abbeyleix at around 1 a.m.

Five other people were injured in the incident, two of them seriously. The injured were taken to Portlaoise General Hospital.

The woman who died was in her 40s. Her name will not be released until relatives have been informed.

The Gardaí at Portlaoise are investigating the incident.
