Judge James McDonnell said: "That's not acceptable reasons for a remand in custody." Solicitor Robert Eager for Ms O'Neill said that it was a case where bail should be granted.

Judge McDonnell granted bail of €1,000 and with two sureties of €1,000 to Ms O'Neill on condition that she reside with her brother at Palmerstown Woods, Clondalkin, Dublin, that she signs on daily at Ballyfermot Garda Station, that she undertakes not to leave the country and that she surrenders her passport when it is located.
