Cape Town - South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission said yesterday it had subpoenaed President Nelson Mandela's former wife, Winnie, to answer questions about the deaths and disappearances of children.

Mr Alex Boraine, commission deputy chairman, told a news conference that the former president Mr P.W. Botha might also be subpoenaed if he refused to testify voluntarily about his cabinet's security policy during apartheid.
