Traffic is expected to be heavy this October bank holiday weekend, with the Cork Jazz Festival, the 98FM Dublin marathon, and the uncertainty of the Aer Lingus flights situation all adding to the usual increase in weekend travellers.

All seats on Dublin-to-Cork trains on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning have been reserved, and those without bookings are advised not to come to Heuston Station.

Heavy traffic is expected on the N8 route from Dublin to Cork, as well as the N2, N4, N6, N7 and N11.

The 98FM Dublin marathon takes place on Monday and traffic restrictions will be in place throughout the city from 5.30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Monday.
