ROADS

IN Dublin, Albert Place West, Ranelagh, is closed all week for road resurfacing. There is pipe laying at Seafield Road at its junction with Trimleston Road junction in Booterstown. Upper Kilmacud Road is closed from its junction with Lower Kilmacud Road to the roundabout, due to gas works. Well Road, Swords, is closed due to construction work. Rowan Road, Balbriggan, is closed. The Naul/ Balbriggan Road is closed for road construction. Work continues on High Street, Bow Street, Sheriff Street, Brunswick Street, Jervis Street and Talbot Street. Footpath work continues on the north and south quays. There's a contraflow on Custom House Quay. North Wall Quay is down to one lane. Road improvement work continues on the Naas dual carriageway until July 1997 between Newlands Cross and Rathcoole.

In Cork, there is no entry to Maylor Street from Patrick Street between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Traffic restrictions are in place on Magazine Road from College Road to the Glasheen Road/Bandon Road junction. There are major road works from Ballyvourney to the Kerry border. There are roadworks on the Blarney to Tower Road.

In Galway, there are roadworks on the N17 in Claregalway, on the Kingston Road, on the N6 Galway to Dublin Road between Aughrim and Kilreekil, and between Lough Athalia and College Road.

In Donegal, there are roadworks on the N15 at Laghey and on the N13 at Kilross junction.

In Louth, the railway bridge on Carrick Road, Dundalk, is closed.

In Waterford, roadworks are in place on the N25, on the Waterford side of Lemybrien and on the Cork Road, near Waterford Crystal. A section of Lower Grange Road is closed again.

In Westmeath, there are temporary traffic lights at the roundabout at the General Hospital, Mullingar.

In Limerick, roadworks and temporary lights are in place on Foynes Road at Clarina, in Tipperary, there are major roadworks and temporary lights on Borrisokane Road.

In Kilkenny there is road resurfacing at the junction of the Waterford/Kilkenny Road (N9) and Waterford/Clonmel Road (N24) at the Granny Bridge. Major roadworks are in place on the Dublin/ Waterford Road at Shankill/ Paulstown and at Woodquarter, two miles from Gowran. Major roadworks are in place south of Johnstown village on the main Dublin/Cork Road.

RAIL

There will be extra DART services tomorrow for the rugby international at Lansdowne Road. From 8 p.m. on Saturday, a limited service will operate between Howth and Connolly station, with trains every 25 minutes in both directions. Normal services will operate between Connolly and Bray. DART services between Howth junction and Connolly will be cancelled on Sunday. They will be replaced with a supplementary bus service, operating every 40 minutes, from 9.30 a.m. Normal services between Howth and Howth Junction and between Connolly and Bray.
