The community and voluntary social partnership groups are to meet Government officials today to outline demands under any new social partnership deal.
The Community Platform, which represents 26 groups, and the Conference of Religious in Ireland's (CORI) Justice Commission has said the proposed deal being considered by unions and employers will fail unless further steps are taken to address inequality and disadvantage.
The Community Platform has said its priorities would be increases in social welfare and would focus on children, housing, accommodation and education.
It said the process was not just about pay. Housing, accommodation and healthcare issues were hugely important for people faced with the inequality surrounding who got access to what, the group said.
Fresh from a week-long tractorcade protest, farmers' representatives are likely to press their claims for assistance for the sector with the Taoiseach's officials.
