The Vatican is to make an announcement regarding the Diocese of Ferns tomorrow morning.
The statement will be made by the Vatican at 11.00 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday April 6th 2002.
A contemporaneous press release will be issued by the Catholic Communications Office in Ireland at the same time.
An internal meeting of the Bishop’s conference is currently underway to decide upon a time and a venue for an urgent special meeting to discuss clerical child sex abuse. The bishops were not due to meet again until June 10th, but, are now expected to meet within the next couple of days.
