NEW YORK-The United Nations General Assembly last night voted overwhelmingly to approve a treaty banning all flu clear tests, despite opposition from India.

The Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) was adopted with 158 states in favour, while India, Bhutan and Libya voted against. Australia brought the treaty to the UN for adoption through a procedural manoeuvre after India vetoed the text last month.
