Two teenagers accused of plotting ATM thefts produced false papers when police arrested them in Belfast, a court heard today.

Two teenagers accused of plotting ATM thefts produced false papers when police arrested them in Belfast, a court heard today.

The 17- and 18-year-old Romanians produced false ID when arrested by police in the city centre on July 19th, Laganside Magistrates Court heard.

Both are accused of going equipped for ATM fraud and and were charged with having mobile phone top-up cards with magnetic strips reprogrammed with bank account details.

Pasca Nelu (18), whose address was given as Chase Side, London, denies six charges of possessing the account details for use in burglary, theft or cheating.

The 17-year-old, who shares the address but cannot be named to protect his identity, denies four similar charges.

The pair were remanded in custody to appear via videolink in Belfast on August 18th.
