Two women were rescued during a house fire in Co Fermanagh early this morning.

Two women were rescued during a house fire in Co Fermanagh early this morning.

According to the PSNI, the fire on the Derrin Road, Enniskillen, was reported at about 3.30am. It is believed an item was pushed through the letterbox of the house and set alight.

The women, in their 20s, were trapped in an upstairs bedroom at the house and suffered smoke inhalation.

When fire brigade crews arrived, they rescued the women using a ladder.

The PSNI is appealing for witnesses to the incident.
