Two Co Monaghan brothers who prevented Department of Agriculture veterinary officers from inspecting a herd and were involved in assaults on gardai and Department officials during a "siege situation" were both jailed for four months yesterday. Patrick Keenan (44) and Phelim Keenan (56), both single, appealed to Judge Matt Deery at Castleblayney Circuit Court to overturn jail sentences imposed last May.
