Two men appeared in a Dublin court this morning charged with the murder of teenager Daniel McAnaspie earlier this year.
Angry scenes broke out in court after the men were charged with the murder of the 17-year-old, whose body was found in a field in Co Meath in May 2010, three months after he went missing while in state care.
A postmortem found he had been stabbed to death.
Trevor Noone (23) and Richard Dekker (25) with an address at Whitestown Avenue, Mulhuddart, Co Dublin, were brought before Blanchardstown District Court this morning.
Gda Patrick McDonagh told the court that when charged today, Mr Noone replied: “No.”
Dressed in a grey sweater, dark trousers and white shoes, Mr Noone was remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill courthouse on December 21st.
Sgt Daniel Callaghan said he arrested Mr Dekker last night at his address before taking him to Blanchardstown Garda station.
When charged, the defendant made no response, Sgt Callaghan told the court.
Mr Dekker was also remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill courthouse on December 21st.
Free legal aid was granted to both men.
As Mr Dekker was led away, dressed in a blue and white tracksuit and runners, a group of youths began shouting threats at him. Court officials had to call for order.
