Berlin - Ms Raisa Gorbachev, the wife of former Soviet leader Mr Mikhail Gorbachev, is to have a bone marrow transplant as part of her treatment for acute leukaemia, doctors in Germany said yesterday.
Dr Thomas Buechner, who has been treating Ms Gorbachev (67), said a donor had been found and the operation was likely to take place within weeks.
