The exit poll was conducted by Ulster Marketing Surveys amongst a sample of more than 2,000 voters interviewed immediately after they had voted in the Assembly election. The sample was spread throughout all 18 constituencies and undertaken at 124 polling booths.

Interviews were conducted face-to-face with randomly selected individuals throughout the hours of polling from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. The accuracy level is plus or minus three per cent. All interviewing was conducted according to the definitive standards of the Interviewer Quality Control Scheme and within the code of conduct of the Market Research Society. Extracts may be published on condition that due acknowledgement is given to The Irish Times and RTE Prime Time.
