Bern - Switzerland decided yesterday to hold a referendum in March on joining the UN but reaffirmed that it would retain its neutrality as a member of the world body.

The Swiss Foreign Minister, Mr Joseph Deiss, said yesterday the government had officially launched a campaign pushing for UN membership.
