Three suspected "Real IRA" members are being questioned this morniing in Dublin after their arrest at the weekend.

Three suspected "Real IRA" members are being questioned this morniing in Dublin after their arrest at the weekend.

The three, who are in their thirties and forties and from Newry, Co Armagh, were arrested when the car they were travelling in was stopped by armed gardaí in Whitehall at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday.

A number of firearms and a quantity of ammunition was recovered.

The men are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State act.

The arrests form part of a joint investigation between gardaí and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
