A woman whose husband, a mechanic, was exposed to asbestos contamination during his work at Collins barracks in Cork was awarded £90,000 at the High Court in Cork yesterday. The State had offered the settlement to Mrs Eileen Walsh of Old Youghal Road, Cork, for the death of her husband, Mr Patrick Walsh. Mr Walsh, who suffered carcinoma of the lung, had worked at the barracks for 24 years.
