A new postage stamp was launched today to mark 400 years of the revival of King's Inns.

The stamp features a pen and ink drawing of the James Gandon-designed facade of the Dublin building and an image of the Seal of the Society of King's Inns.

The stamp was launched by the Chief Justice, Justice John L Murray, at an event at King's Inns. Established in 1541, the Honorable Society of King's Inns is the oldest institution of legal education in Ireland.

Following a period of inactivity towards the end of the sixteenth century, King's Inns was reconstituted in 1607.
