Breda Delaney , who was last seen on Saturday, had been ‘anxious and distressed’

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for missing Dublin woman Breda Delaney.

She was last seen at her home Avondale Court in Blackrock sometime between 5am and 8am on Saturday morning.

A sweep of the south Dublin coastline has been carried out in the search for the 72-year-old.

She is described as being 162cm (5ft, 4in) in height, of slight build with blonde/grey hair and blue eyes.

When last seen she was wearing a white cardigan, a grey calf-length skirt and black shoes.

Gardaí said they were concerned for her welfare and requested property owners in the Blackrock area to check their premises and grounds.

Her daughter Emer Delaney told RTÉ’s Sean O’Rourke programme she was anxious to find her mother who has been missing for three days.

“She left the house sometime between five in the morning and eight, and we haven’t seen her since. We haven’t had any solid leads yet,” she said.

“My dad realised she was missing at around midday and went to the guards. He thought she was upstairs sleeping.”

“She has never done anything like this before. She has been very anxious and distressed lately but I never would have expected this,” she said.
