Defending champions Sligo IT were knocked out of the Sigerson Cup at the quarter-final stage this afternoon, with UUJ booking their place in the last four.
The Ulster college required penalties to dethrone Sligo, with the sides locked on 0-14 apiece after four periods of extra-time. UUJ eventually triumphed 4-2 in the shoot-out.
UUJ will be joined in the semi-finals by Queens University, who claimed a one-point win (1-11 to 2-5) over Belfast rivals St Mary's College. UCC and DCU complete the line-up.
