Racing: Sky's The Limit suffered a surprise defeat as he made his chasing debut in the Panoramic Restaurant Beginners Chase at Punchestown.

An impressive winner of last season's Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival, Edward O'Grady's five-year-old was sent off the 13-8 favourite over the bigger obstacles.

He looked set for success as he cruised into the lead turning for home after a solid jumping performance under Barry Geraghty in the two-mile event.

But Sky's The Limit hit the top of the second-last fence and although Geraghty put him right for the last, he had lost some valuable momentum and tired quickly on the run in.

That let in Schindlers Hunt who came with a powerful finish on the testing ground to beat Rights Of Man by a neck with Sky's The Limit fading into third.

Winning trainer Dessie Hughes said: "We will keep him to races for winners of one (chase) now. The Drinmore Novices Chase would probably be a bit much this soon.

"He learnt a good bit for his run here last time though."

Bookmakers Cashmans were suitable impressed to offer a 33/1 quote about Schindlers Hunt for the Irish Independent Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival.

Noland and Al Eile are currently the 10-1 joint favourites for the Grade One event.
