Shots were fired at Lisnaskea RUC station in Co. Fermanagh last night. The attack happened shortly after 11 p.m. when a burst of automatic gunfire was directed at the RUC base. No one was injured in the attack.

A police spokeswoman said the shots appear to have been fired from Mount View Drive, which overlooks the station. A follow-up security operation was being mounted today.

No one had yet admitted responsibility for the shooting. The Continuity IRA has staged previous attacks in Co. Fermanagh, although it is unclear whether it was involved in this incident.
