RUC fires shots during Belfast incident

Two people were arrested in Belfast this afternoon after an incident in which the RUC fired live ammunition.

Two people were arrested in Belfast this afternoon after an incident in which the RUC fired live ammunition.

The incident occurred in the Oakpark area at about 4.15 p.m. today. One of those arrested is believed to have had a firearm recovered by the RUC.

The matter has been referred to the Office of the Police Ombudsman. No further information has been released.
