Tehran - A group of rebels from Iran's largest armed opposition group, the People's Mujahideen Organisation, have clashed with security forces in a border city close to Iraq, newspapers said yesterday.

An unspecified number of the Iraq-based rebels, fighting to overthrow Iran's clerical government, were killed, wounded or arrested by security forces in the city of Ilam, the Iranian daily Jomhuri-ye Eslami said.
