A remand prisoner, Melvyn McNamara (19), from O'Malley Park, Southill, absconded from Limerick Regional Hospital on Wednesday night. He was waiting in the casualty department after 10 p.m. to be treated for an old head injury after being brought to the hospital by prison officers from Limerick Prison. He was described as being 5ft 8ins tall, short cut black hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a dirty white sweater with a black or navy track bottom and runners.
