Bogota - President-elect Andres Pastrana said yesterday that he had held face-to-face talks with the commander of Colombia's leading Marxist guerrilla group.

Mr Pastrana made the dramatic announcement at a news conference where he said Mr Manuel Marulanda, the veteran head of the FARC rebels, had received him at a secret location outside Bogota.
