Syringe attacks increase

THERE were almost 500 syringe attacks in 1995 and in 141 cases suspects were charged, Mrs Owen said in a written reply to Mr Peadar Clohessy (PD, Limerick East). The previous year there were 329 attacks and 107 people faced legal proceedings as a result.
