Police in Newry and Belfast are investigating two paramilitary-style shootings last night.

Police in Newry and Belfast are investigating two paramilitary-style shootings last night.

The first occurred in the Bancroft Road area Newry when two masked men armed with a hand gun and a baseball bat or hurley stick beat a man before shooting him in the ankles and wrists.

The second was in the Creggan Road area of Belfast where a man was shot in the leg.
