Paul Wallace has been named in the Ireland squad to play Wales in Sunday’s Six Nations opener.

The former Lions star was confirmed in the final 22 this morning and will be on the replacements bench at Lansdowne Road on Sunday.

Eddie O’Sullivan had delayed naming Wallace in the squad yesterday as the prop had not fully recovered from Leinster’s bruising encounter with Leicester at the weekend.

However, Wallace has been passed fit and will act as cover for John Hayes and Peter Clohessy in the front row.
