A Cork woman, believed to have been one of the oldest people in Ireland, has died.

A Cork woman, believed to have been one of the oldest people in Ireland, has died.

Eileen Cassidy, of Lake Lawn, Douglas, was in her 105th year when she passed away peacefully at St Finbarr’s Hospital in the city yesterday. The oldest person in Ireland is understood to be Mary Kate Byrne of Maganey, Co Laois, who is 107.
