An old master which was once in the Powerscourt art collection in Wicklow is expected to make up to £2 million at auction after being rediscovered at a house in Britain.

It will go on sale at Sothebys in London on July 6th.

The Holy Family with the Infant St John The Baptist was sold through an unnamed Dublin showroom in 1912 and then disappeared.

It was rediscovered after being owned by an unsuspecting couple who inherited the painting 20 years ago.
