The financial road ahead for Munster Rugby became clearer after today's news that Toyota Ireland will extend its sponsorship deal with the province until 2010 and is worth €5million..

Today's news is a welcome boost ahead of the province's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Llanelli at Stradey Park this Friday night (7.30pm).

In addition to the basic sponsorship fee, Toyota will still take account of bonus payments based on performances in the Heineken Cup. The deal also includes sponsorship of the Munster under-20 side.

"The renewal of our partnership with Toyota is tremendous news," said Garrett Fitzgerald, chief executive of the Munster Branch. "The timing of this announcement is particularly opportune, coming as it does as we face into this crucial end of season period in the Magners League and Heineken Cup."
