A mother and son who were critically injured in a fire at their home in Co Meath on Tuesday night died in hospital yesterday …

A mother and son who were critically injured in a fire at their home in Co Meath on Tuesday night died in hospital yesterday afternoon.

Their names have not yet been released. The son was 36 and his mother was in her 60s. The fire started around midnight in their house in Ashbourne. They were transferred on Wednesday from James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown to St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin.
