A Co Tyrone garage owner who sold a car which had travelled almost three times the mileage shown on the odometer was fined £750 at Cookstown Magistrates' Court yesterday. The court was told that Nigel Ferguson, of Drumconvis Road, Coagh, had also misled the purchaser by having the vehicle registered in Scotland to give the impression it was imported.
At the time of sale, the odometer showed the mileage as 33,000, whereas the vehicle had in fact travelled 93,000 miles.
